Dolph Lundgren was born as Hans Lundgren on November 3, 1957, in Stockholm, Sweden, to parents Sigrid Birgitta and Karl Johan Hugo Lundgren. At a young age, he began practicing various forms of martial arts. His skill in karate advanced, and he became a contestant in the 2nd World Open Karate Tournament in 1979. In 1994, he married Anette Qviberg, with whom he had two daughters, Ida and Greta. Lundgren and Anette divorced in 2011. He currently lives in Los Angeles, California.
Lundgren’s first major role in the motion picture industry was Ivan Drago in Rocky IV, in which he starred opposite Sylvester Stallone. Lundgren has continued to direct throughout the years, and has starred in every movie that he has directed.
